About Sooke Septic

Sooke Septic is a septic and onsite wastewater contractor working out of Sooke, in the Capital Regional District. We're Registered Onsite Wastewater Practitioners, registered through the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians Association of BC. What we do

We install new Type 1 and Type 2 systems. Drain fields, distribution boxes, pumps, floats and alarms — we repair all of it, and clear blockages and lines too. Tank pump-outs and filter service are part of the job. We also run real-estate and pre-purchase inspections and write the report.

How we work

We come out and look at the job first — that visit is free. The price comes next, in writing. Then we do the work, file what needs filing with Island Health, and clean up before we leave.

What we are registered to do

Our registration comes from the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians Association of BC — it covers Type 1 and Type 2 systems, up to 9,100 litres a day. We carry WorkSafeBC coverage.

Where we work

We work in Sooke, East Sooke, Otter Point and Metchosin, in the Capital Regional District. Sooke and Metchosin are municipalities. East Sooke and Otter Point are unincorporated communities in the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area.

How we price a job

The visit is free, and the price follows in writing, itemized, so you can see what each part of the job costs. Design work is a separate charge. First we dig test pits and read the soil, then we draw up the system. Nothing goes in the ground until you've seen a price and said yes.

What you keep

On a new build, you keep the as-built diagram, the maintenance plan, and the Letter of Certification. After a pump-out, we tell you straight what was in the tank and what the filter looked like. On an inspection, you get the written report, and we sit down and go through it with you.
